English Final Fantasy XIII Demo Will Be Brand New
A Final Fantasy XIII demo is currently available in Japan, but a North American demo is still up in the air. If Square Enix does decide to release one though, it looks like they won’t be recycling the old content.
According to Joystiq, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase said of a possible North American demo, “We are thinking of providing it in downloadable format.”
Square Enix has previously stated that a western FFXIII demo would be downloadable. However, Kitase also said, “If we were to provide the demo overseas, it would be a completely new version.”
Maybe that means westerners will get a glimpse at the icy Lake Bilge region that was featured at Gamescom?
The game itself is nearly finished, with Square Enix aiming for a holiday release in Japan. North Americans can expect it on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next Spring.
